A triumphant night at the BSME Awards 2023

Campaign, ENDS Report, PodPod and Wonderly for Motability’s Lifestyle magazine all picked up awards

Britain’s best editors, art directors, and columnists were celebrated at the prestigious BSME Awards 2023 last night at Rosewood London.

Haymarket was delighted to see its brands and teams pick up not one, but four impressive awards at the annual ceremony.

Jamie Carpenter, Editor, ENDS Report, won B2B Editor of the Year, Chris Barker, Senior Art Director, Campaign, won B2B Art Director of the Year (for the third consecutive year!) and B2B Cover of the Year, Adam Shepherd, Editor, PodPod, won Launch of the Year and Sophie-Marie Odum, Editor, Wonderly for Motability’s Lifestyle magazine, won highly commended for Sport, Health & Fitness Editor of the Year

Chris Barker’s Cover of the Year win was for the global creativity issue’s AI-inspired cover, pictured above.

Published the evening before the Cannes Lions festival earlier this year, Barker’s cover showed a global map made out of wires and pieces of tech. The Campaign logo had drooped to the bottom of the cover, with only the “AI” from Campaign left at the top.

Speaking about the win, Barker said: “Campaign is such an exciting visual brand to work on. As we continue to expand our online offerings and our ventures into video and audio, it seems fitting that the BSME has chosen to recognise the print product for everything we have tried to achieve with it over the last few years.”

The BSME Talent Awards celebrate achievement, best practice and groundbreaking editorial creativity among grass-roots teams across all print, web and social platforms.
