Inaugural awards handed out to talented reporters, writers and editors spanning local, regional, and major national titles
Thirty of the brightest young journalists in the UK have been recognised at the inaugural Press 30 Under 30 Awards, which took place in London on Wednesday 23 October 2024.

The Times, Daily Mail, The Telegraph, The Sun and Bloomberg were among those represented on the list, alongside leading lights from the local and regional press. The awards operate alongside the prestigious Press Awards and Regional Press Awards.
Among the first 30 journalists to be recognised at this annual event were frontline reporters covering the conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, alongside those who broke significant political, criminal and specialist scoops for their UK publications.
Winners picked up a trophy and enjoyed the opportunity to network with senior industry peers and fellow winners at the exclusive event. Held at News UK’s News Building in London, the event was organised by Haymarket Media Group on behalf of the News Media Association.
Owen Meredith, chief executive of the News Media Association, said: “With these awards, we celebrate the brightest and best young talent right across the profession – from local and regional newsrooms working hard to champion their communities and tell stories that would otherwise go unnoticed to national titles innovating and finding new ways to share their journalism.
“The individuals highlighted come from a range of different titles and specialisms. But they all boast an absolute dedication to their profession and a pride in their work. They represent the lifeblood of our profession.”
