Supporting invaluable work underway to reach people in crisis via the Red Cross Disaster Fund
Haymarket Media Group announces the British Red Cross as its new global partner on International Day of Charity. The partnership will support the British Red Cross’ Disaster Fund, which helps communities prepare for, respond to and recover from crises. The British Red Cross is part of the world’s largest humanitarian network, with the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement present in over 190 countries. They are led by their values of impartiality, humanity and neutrality to serve those in need.
This is the first time Haymarket has had a unified charity partner with National Societies across all its locations – spanning the UK, US, Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore, India, Germany and the Netherlands – reflecting the priorities of its sustainability agenda, Impact, and its commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Kevin Costello, Global Chief Executive at Haymarket said: “The scale and intensity of humanitarian need is growing year on year at an unforeseen scale, and with Haymarket Impact’s global outlook, it made sense that we align this approach to our charity partnerships.
“When seeking our new global partner, it was important we chose one who clearly aligned with our values and shaping a better future. From our first conversation with the British Red Cross, their tireless work to help communities in crisis across the world was clear, and was a key factor in choosing them for emergency fundraisers in the past.
“We have a proud history of going above and beyond to support our charity partners and I am excited to see all we can achieve together, working to help those who need it most.”
Paul Amadi, Chief Supporter Officer for the British Red Cross, added: “We are absolutely delighted to have been chosen as Haymarket Media Group’s new global charity partner. Your support of our Disaster Fund means that when disaster strikes, the Red Cross will be there for people when the worst happens, no matter who they are or where they’re from – both in the UK and abroad. We are incredibly excited to be working in partnership together, and I look forward to seeing what we will go on to achieve across the next three years.”
Haymarket previously raised more than £500,000 in fundraising and pro bono support for its last UK charity partner, Skylarks. In keeping with Haymarket’s focus to think local, act global, the company will also be announcing local charities and NGOs within its different neighbourhoods around the world in the coming months.

About the British Red Cross
With 13 million+ volunteers and a local presence in over 190 countries, the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement is the world’s largest humanitarian network.
They are experts in preventing and responding to crises, and a trusted part of the communities they serve. Together, they bring hope and life-changing help to anyone who needs it, no matter who or where they are.
The British Red Cross is part of this global, volunteer-led humanitarian network. They respond to conflicts, natural disasters and personal emergencies, working hand-in-hand with communities to find local solutions to the biggest global problems of our time. In an emergency, the British Red Cross is here for humanity.
The Disaster Fund is the British Red Cross’ most effective response to growing humanitarian need.
Investment in this fund allows them to allocate immediate and flexible support for emergencies all over the world, enabling rapid humanitarian response.
It also helps them to prepare and act ahead of time to mitigate the risks of crises in the long-term, and to ensure those affected can build back stronger for the future.
The Disaster Fund also enables the Red Cross to respond to both large-scale disasters and silent emergencies that are not in the media spotlight but are equally devastating for those affected.
Haymarket Group’s support of the Disaster Fund will enable Red Cross teams to provide vital relief to thousands of families whose lives and livelihoods have been devastated by disaster.
