In partnership with the Red Cross, Haymarket is proud to support the DEC Middle East Humanitarian Appeal

Helping the the Disasters Emergency Committee’s coalition of charities to raise vital funds

Haymarket Media Group recently announced its new global charity partner as the British Red Cross, part of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, reaching 160 million people each year in 191 countries.

This month marked one year since the devastating attacks in Israel on 7 October and the escalation of conflict that has led to a catastrophic humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the wider Middle East:

  • In Gaza, famine is looming, clean water is scarce and health care systems have almost collapsed. Most people have fled from their homes, but there is nowhere safe left to go
  • In Israel, families of those held hostage desperately await news of their loved ones and tens of thousands of people have been displaced
  • In Lebanon, hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced, and humanitarian needs are increasing at an alarming rate
  • In the West Bank, recent violence has displaced hundreds of families and had a devastating economic impact

As the conflict continues to evolve, millions of people are in urgent need of food, shelter and medical care. When there is a devastating emergency, the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) of 15 charities – including the British Red Cross – come together to raise funds for an effective, coordinated response. DEC member charities are providing life-saving support and care to people in crisis in Gaza, Lebanon and beyond.

In partnership with the Red Cross, Haymarket is proud to support the DEC Middle East Humanitarian Appeal.

Over the past year, the Red Cross and wider Red Crescent Movement have provided a lifeline to people in urgent need of humanitarian relief. 1.6 million emergency aid items have been distributed, 100,000 people have been given emergency medical support, and 27 camps have been set up for displaced people.

If you want to help, any donations will ensure the British Red Cross are able to continue their vital work today and in the weeks and months ahead wherever it is needed.

Haymarket’s fundraiser is open to anyone who would like to show their support – please feel free to share it among your networks. Aid alone will not solve this crisis, but it will save lives.
